Definitely an intense ending! The Chicago Blackhawks went goal for goal with the Anaheim Ducks, leading to a final duel in Overtime. Luckily, Viktor Stalberg was able to net the winning goal 28 seconds before going to a Shoot Out. The Hawks had just lost in a Shoot Out with the Nashville Predators the night before.

Less than four minutes into this nail biter, Patrick Kane came out with a Power Play goal to give the Hawks and early lead. Unfortunately, Anaheim answered right back less than a minute later. About half way through the second period, Marian Hossa gave Chicago another Power Play goal, with an assist from Kane. However, only a few minutes into the third period, the Ducks tied things up again, sending the game into Overtime. With only seconds remaining on the clock, the Hawk’s fifth shot in the extra time proved to be a good one.

Corey Crawford recorded his second win of the season against the Ducks. Crawford made 24 saves, three of which occurred in Overtime. The young goalie has not played many games this season, but the time he gets out on the ice is crucial to getting him ready for a possible future spot as the starter.

The Blackhawks go up against the Edmonton Oilers this Wednesday, November 17, at 8:30 P.M. CT. The Hawks have struggled against the Oilers in their first two match ups this season, but hopefully they can turn things around in game 3.
