Coming off a loss to the San Jose Sharks, the Chicago Blackhawks took out their aggression on another California team: the Anaheim Ducks. Chicago started out this game behind, but tied things up in the second, and then went crazy in the third. The Hawks may be holding the fourth spot in the Central Division, but are only four points behind the Detroit Red Wings, who lead the division.
With nearly three minutes remaining in the first period, Anaheim capitalized on a Power Play opportunity. Then, about half way through the second period, Duncan Keith tied things up with a Short Handed goal. Early in the third period, Patrick Sharp gave Chicago the lead with his 14th goal of the season. Niklas Hjalmarsson’s first goal of the season and Troy Brouwer’s fourth helped clinch the game for the Blackhawks.
Corey Crawford had another successful outing in the net, making 26 saves and only allowing a single goal. He is now 4-4 for the season.
Hopefully the Hawks can go 2-1 in Cali when they take on the Los Angeles Kings, Today, at 9:30 P.M. CT.
