The Chicago Blackhawks led this game for nearly 40 full minutes before giving up two, back-to-back goals to the Edmonton Oilers, taking their second loss against them, this season. It’s unfortunate that the Blackhawks are having so much trouble at home, this season, going 4-6. Regardless, it is still very early in the season, and Chicago has plenty of time to retake the Division.
A little over ten minutes into the game, Fernando Pisani put in the opening goal with an assist from Jack Skille; this was Pisani’s second goal of the season. Chicago upheld that one goal lead until the seventh minute of the third period, when Edmonton capitalized on a Power Play opportunity. The kicker came :14 seconds later, when the Oilers got their game winner. Chicago fought hard, but they just couldn’t tie things up before the game ended.
Corey Crawford was between the pipes, making 24 saves. He was doing great until the back-to-back goals in the third period, that ended up costing the Hawks the game. He is now 1-4 this season.
The Blackhawks will take on the Phoenix Coyotes this Wednesday, November 10, at 7:30 P.M., CT.
