The Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers are now tied in the series with two games a piece.  The Stanley Cup has come down to a Best of 3, with two of those games taking place in Chicago.  The Hawks will need to really step up their game back in Chicago if they want to keep the momentum on their side.

Philadelphia took an early lead in this game, capitalizing on a Power Play situation; then, with a little over five minutes left in the period, the Flyers took a two goal lead.  With under a minute and a half in the first period, Patrick Sharp one timed a pass from Duncan Keith, getting his ninth goal of the Post Season.  Unfortunately, Philly made it a two goal difference, once again, in the final minute.

23 shots were exchanged in period 2, but neither team managed to change the score.  In the sixth minute of the third period, the Flyers went up 4-1, but there was still plenty of time left in the game.  The Hawks began to make the comeback, starting with a goal from Dave Bolland during a 5 on 3 situation.  Brian Campbell made the score 3-4 in the final five minutes of the game, giving Chicago the opportunity to tie things up.  The Blackhawks had some great offensive efforts in the final minutes, but an Empty Netter in the remaining 25 seconds put this game away.

Antti Niemi made some great saves, but fell victim to some poor defensive efforts.  The young goalie had 26 saves against Philly, but couldn’t save the four goals that got past him.

The Hawks will try to reclaim the lead in the series this Sunday, June 6, at 7:00 P.M. CT.
