The Chicago Cubs almost grabbed their first win of the season on Wednesday night, but the Atlanta Braves came back in the Eighth Inning to put up two runs and grab the single point lead.   Ryan Dempster pitched a phenomenal game, only giving up a single run.  The Cubs will face the Braves one more time in this series, hopefully pulling out the win.

The Cubs two runs came from Alfonso Soriano and Mike Fontenot, with an RBI going to new Leadoff Man, Ryan Theriot.  The Cubs also saw hits from Kosuke Fukudome, Aramis Ramirez, Geovany Soto, and Dempster.  No Chicago Home Runs for this game.

On the Mound:

Dempster threw for six innings, striking out nine batters and only giving up three hits.  Sean Marshall pitched a good inning too, striking out two of the batters he faced and giving up zero hits.  John Grabow experienced the trouble, giving up a two run Homer in the Eighth Inning that put the Braves ahead.

The Cubs final game of the series takes place Today, April 8, at 6:10 P.M. CT.
