Cubs Take Big Win in Spring Training Opener

The Chicago Cubs had a successful Spring Training Opener, grabbing 5 Home Runs and the victory.  The homers were hit by Derrek Lee, Marlon Byrd, Tyler Colvin, Brad Snyder, and Sam Fuld.  In addition to the onslaught of Home Runs, Mike Fontenot and Geovany Soto had RBIs.  Newly acquired had an additional run to go with his homer.

On the Mound:

Randy Wells pitched for two innings, giving up no hits and striking out two batters.  Sean Marshall also gave up no hits during his two innings, but had a walk and struck out one batter.  Mike Parisi and J.R. Mathes gave up the only three Oakland runs.

The Cubs next game will be against the Arizona Diamondbacks Today, March 5, at 2:05 P.M. CT.
