The Chicago Cubs are now 10-6 in Spring Training, after defeating the Chicago White Sox, 8-4 on Friday.
One of the members of the Wrigleyville Sports Family, who is out in Arizona enjoying the Cubs Spring Training, passed on some even more exciting news; the Cubs vs. Dodgers game, on Thursday, March 18, set the Highest Attendance Record for the Cactus League, with 13,391 fans. According to the Camelback Ranch website, “the previous Cactus League single-game mark of 13,366 was set March 12, 2004 at the Peoria Sports Complex when the Seattle Mariners played host to the Chicago Cubs.”
According to MLB.com, the Chicago Cubs hold “nine of the top 10 Cactus League attendance figures.” Impressive, but not surprising, considering the great following of Cubs fans.
