The USA pulled off a stunning victory against the Canadians Sunday night, making them the Leader in Group A, and one of only two undefeated teams. The boys in Red, White, and Blue will now move on to the Quarter-Finals to continue that fight for the gold. The Chicago Blackhawks had four players in this game, with Patrick Kane representing the U.S., and Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, and Jonathan Toews representing Canada. None of these four players had any goals in the game, but Toews pulled out two assists, while Keith and Seabrook grabbed an assist, each.

Less than a minute into the game, Brian Rafalski, a member of the Detroit Red Wings, gave the U.S. an early lead. Almost half way through the period, Canada tied the score up, but Rafalski put the U.S. up again less than 30 seconds later. Three and a half minutes into the second period, Canada had another tying goal, but before the period could come to an end, Chris Drury, from the New York Rangers, made it a 3-2 game, in favor of the USA.

Seven minutes into the final period, Jamie Langenbrunner put in a Power Play goal for the U.S., making it the first two goal lead in the game. With a little over three minutes remaining in the game, Canada closed the gap a little, but when they pulled their goalie in the final minute, Ryan Kesler, from the Vancouver Canucks, sank an Empty Netter for the U.S.

The U.S. will play their first game of the Quarter-Finals on Tuesday, February 24.
