At the beginning of the season, the Nashville Predators were not a threat in the Central Division, but now things have changed. The Predators, who have won seven of their last ten games, are now only three points behind the Chicago Blackhawks in the Central Division, after walking away with the win on Friday night. Despite out shooting the Predators 35 to 23, Chicago could not capitalize.

Jonathan Toews had the first goal of the game, after putting an amazing shot in. He skated past the defenders, around the far side of the goalie, and tapped it in before getting tripped. Unfortunately, the Hawks only held the lead until the end of the first period, when Nashville got their first goal. In the seventh minute of the second period, Nashville took the lead.

The Blackhawks came close to tying the game back up, but the Predators would hold the lead for the rest of the time. It remained a one goal game until the final two minutes of play when the Predators scored again. This goal really created a breakdown for the Hawks in the final minutes, causing them to give up one more goal before time could expire.

Cristobal Huet made 19 saves in the game, giving up four goals. Huet has had seven wins in his last ten games. He will have the night off Saturday as Antti Niemi goes between the poles for his first time since Novermber 6, when the Hawks lost to the Colorado Avalanche.

The Blackhawks play again, tonight, at 6:30 P.M. They will be facing the Pittsburgh Penguins in Pittsburgh.
