The Chicago Blackhawks are now on a four game winning streak, taking down two Division Rivals in the process.  This was the second game between the Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings this season, splitting the record after Chicago’s Shut Out, Sunday night.  These two rivals will meet four more times this season, with more possible games if both teams meet in the playoffs.

Less than eight minutes into the game, Duncan Keith took a long shot, putting in a Power Play goal.  During the 16th minute of the second period, Brian Campbell had his third goal of the season, scoring off a spectacular pass from Patrick Sharp.  At this point in the game, the Blackhawk’s defense had put in two goals and held the Red Wings to only ten shots.  With a little over 30 seconds left in the third period, Dustin Byfuglien put in a long shot of his own, giving the Hawks a three goal lead.

Cristobal Huet got his second consecutive Shut Out, and his third of the season.  Defense did a great job limiting the amount of Red Wing shots, but Huet had a huge part in saving all 20 that came at him.  No doubt, he has really turned around his season, now at a 91.6% Save Percentage.

The Blackhawks will fight to continue their streak on Tuesday, December 22, when they take on the San Jose Sharks.  The last time these two teams met, the Sharks were leading the NHL in points.  The puck will drop at 7:00 P.M. CT.
