Playing six games in ten days, all on the road, can really take a toll on you towards the end. The Chicago Blackhawks finished their Circus Trip with a 4-2 record after taking that final loss to the Los Angeles Kings during a Shoot Out. It was a low scoring, back and forth game between the two teams, with Jonathan Toews having the tying goal that sent the game into Over Time. The Blackhawks will get two days of rest before playing again back in Chicago.
Not much action in the first period, with only 11 shots being exchanged between the two teams, and no goals. Then, early in the second period, the Kings put in the first goal. Despite 22 shots in the second period, that was the only goal that occurred. A couple of minutes into the third period, Toews tied it up for the Blackhawks during a Power Play. Patrick Kane took a shot amongst heavy traffic, and Toews caught the rebound, putting it in.
In Over Time, the Hawks had a great chance to finish this game off. With less than a minute, Chicago was on the Power Play, and took three great shots, but just couldn’t make anything in. The Shoot Out went the worst way it could possibly go, with Toews and Kane each missing their shots and the Kings putting in their first two shots.
Cristobal Huet did a great job again, saving 21 shots throughout the game. It was unfortunate that first goal slipped right between his legs, but he still managed to hold the Kings to a single goal. He is currently up to a 91.1% Save Percentage.
The Blackhawk’s first home game following this Circus Trip will be Tuesday, December 1 at 7:00 P.M. CT. The Blackhawks will be taking on their division rivals, the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets are currently seven points behind the Hawks.
