The Chicago Blackhawks are only two games into the new season, but Patrick Kane is already off to a great start, scoring a goal and an assist in each game. The former rookie of the year is currently tied for 5th in goals scored and for overall points amongst all NHL players. He leads the Chicago Blackhawks with the most points and is tied with Patrick Sharp and Dustin Byfuglien for goals.
He ended the last regular season with a total of 25 goals and 70 total points, over a span of 80 games. If Kane keeps this pace up, he will be looking at his best season with the Blackhawks to date, and a possible chance at winning the Art Ross Trophy (given to the player who leads the NHL in points during the regular season). The last Blackhawk to be awarded the Art Ross Trophy was Stan Mikita in 1968.
Well done Kane! Keep up the great work! Chicago is proud to have you!
