After taking a close loss in the first game, the Chicago Blackhawks came back to shut the Florida Panthers out in game 2. The teams end their trip to Helinski, Finland with a win for each.  After two games, Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, and Dustin Byfuglien each lead the team with two goals a piece.

Early in the game, Brian Campbell got the first goal with a long shot; the Panther’s goalie never even saw it coming.  In the first minutes of the second period, Patrick Kane followed with a rebound shot.  In the final minute of the period, Patrick Sharp smashed one in to give the Blackhawks a 3-0 lead.  In the third period, Dustin Byfuglien made one more to finish the game.

Coach Joel Quenneville chose to put in second string goalie Antti Niemi, a native from Finland.  Niemi had 23 saves and no goals.  Despite this great performance, Cristobal Huet is still expected to be the starting goalie for the Hawks.

The Blackhawks don’t play again until Thursday, October 8 at 6:30 P.M.  Chicago will get to match up again with the Detroit Red Wings for the first time since their final game in the playoffs last season.
