Derrek Lee Has a New Baby Boy

Not only did Derrek Lee just celebrate a Birthday last week, but he also got to celebrate the birth of his second child. Thursday morning, Derrek Lee’s wife gave birth to a baby boy, who they named Dylan. Lee missed Thursday and Friday’s games to be with his family.

Lee’s return on Saturday was exactly what the Chicago Cubs needed. After losing the final Crosstown Game on Thursday and their first game against the New York Mets on Friday, Lee aided the Cubs in defeating the Mets in Game 2. Lee provided two homeruns, one in the fifth inning and the final one in the eighth inning, giving the Cubs their 5-3 win.

Lee also had a great game the following Monday (Labor Day) against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He had two homeruns again, along with an RBI from his second home run. The Cubs went on the defeat the Pirates 4-2. Maybe Derrek Lee should have children more often? They seem to have a positive effect on his game.
