The Chicago Blackhawks started off with an early lead against the Washington Capitals, but let it slip at the end of the game. The Capitals managed to tie the game up before the end of Regular Time, sending it into OT.
Alternate Captain, Patrick Sharp, came out early in the first period and knocked in the Blackhawk’s first goal of the preseason off a pass from Dustin Byfuglien. In the first five minutes of the second period, Right Winger, Jack Skille, gave Chicago a 2-0 lead over the Capitals. Only minutes later, the Capitals closed the gap a little with their first goal of the game.
