Two of the Chicago Blackhawk's star players who helped the team make the playoffs and then advance to the Final 4 have signed contracts with two new teams. Right Wing Marty Havlat will be taking a six-year contract with the Minnesota Wild while Goalie Nikolai Khabibulin will be guarding the net for the Edmonton Oilers with a four-year contract.
Talk going around is that the split between Havlat and the Blackhawks was not the most pleasant, but one thing for sure is that the Chicago fans are going to miss Havlat. His position has been filled by newly signed Marian Hossa while Khabibulin's spot will be taken over by last season's starting goalie, Cristobal Huet. Antti Niemi, just signed to a one-year contract with the Hawks, will be the backup.
Best of luck to both players…unless they're playing the Blackhawks.
