Chicago Cubs Battle it Out in Extra Innings With Houston Astros

After ten innings, the Chicago Cubs lost to the Houston Astros by a single run that ended the game at 3-2.  The Cubs have looked good in these first two games, and Alfonso Soriano managed to hit another home run.  

The Cubs put up the first run in the third inning with a single from Derrek Lee that drove Ryan Theriot in.  Then the Astros put up single runs in the fifth and sixth inning, giving them the lead.  Alfonso Soriano's home run in the eighth inning tied up game and sent it into extra innings.  During the tenth inning, Houston claimed one more run and the game.  

On the mound, Ryan Dempster pitched for six innings, giving up the Astros first two runs, but striking out five batters.  Neal Cotts pitched during the tenth inning, striking out one batter, but giving up the winning run for Houston.  Angel Guzman also pitched an inning, striking out two batters.  

The Chicago Cubs will play the Houston Astros one last time for this series on Wednesday, April 8 at 7:05 Central Time.  Right now the series is tied at 1-1.
