Despite taking nearly twice as many shots as the Minnesota Wild, the Chicago Blackhawks just couldn’t pull out the win this time. The teams had a scoreless first period, followed by a tied second period, and it wasn’t until the final minutes of the third period that the Wild pulled ahead, ending the game 2-1. The single goal for the Blackhawks came from Jonathan Toews.
The Blackhawks Cristobal Huet ended the game with 22 saves. Nikolai Khababulin typically switches out with Huet, but has been out due to injury. The Blackhawks played a great game, but it just wasn’t enough. The Blackhawks record now stands at 34-16-8.
