Dave Weiss said on Oct 20th at 01:08 PM: Thanks, Eric.
I didn't go to the convention last year - my first missed convention in a few years. So they might have changed some of the logistics around with current player autographs. Also, I thought the ticket sales started during the season. I seem to recall Bob and Len talking about it during a game telecast. I must have been mistaken.
Thanks for correcting me.

Tickets for the next Cubs Convention (which takes place in January 2010) go on Sale Wednesday, November 4 at 10am CT. You can go to Cubs.com at that date and time to purchase them, but get there early because they sell our really quick.
In the past, this is how they've done it. You get a scratch card upon checking in, on the day of the convention. The big name players will be scratch card only, and you aren't guaranteed a name on your card. (Ex. Zambrano is usually a scratch off name. If you don't get his name on the card, you won't be able to get his autograph, unless you beg someone for their scratch card). However, the majority of players are NOT scratch off, so you can stand in line to get their autograph, no extra charge.
Most booths usually have a professional photographer taking pictures, who you can buy pictures from later, but you can take your own pictures too. The list of players doing autographs, along with times, is usually posted about a week before the convention. The trick is to plan ahead of time what order you want to get autographs.
Dave Weiss said on Oct 20th at 10:20 AM: Yes, they're usually sold out quite early. You'll have to check on Cubs.com to see if there are tickets still availalbe. I'd doubt there are. Alternatively, perhaps a site like StubHub.com would have some for sale - I really couldn't say for sure.
Absolutely cameras are allowed and encouraged! If you go, you'll definitely get up close and personal with a lot of the past Cubs players. Of course, the Cubs are very protective of the current players, so you can get autographs, but perhaps not get the same one-on-one access you might get with the former players. The autograph sessions are not a separate fee - they'll post who is signing when.
dan Haynes said on Oct 20th at 10:06 AM: I understand Cubs Convention is sold out every year, and I want to guarantee tickets early this year. How do I get tickets for this? 1. Are cameras usually allowed in to the Cubs Convention to take posed pictures of the players and yourself? If possible, I want to get a picture taken with top Cubs like Soriano, Derek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Lilly, and Zambrano and individually, whether it be with a photo op ticket or at the autograph tables. I want to guarantee this. How are the photo ops set up? Seperate?
2. Do you typically have photo op tickets at these fanfests? If so, do you use your own camera or do you have a photographer on-site that prints the pictures there?
3. Are the photo op tickets only for season ticket holders of everyone? What about autograph tickets?
4. Will there be photo op tickets for the players? When are the list of players going to be released?
5. How do get tickets for this event? I live in NJ and I want to guarantee I get tickets.
6. When is the latest I can buy entrance tickets? Do I purchase photo op and autograph tickets only when I get there, or do I buy them online?
Please get back to me, thx
